A woman who brought the Düsseldorf gentlemen to their knees
Meral Alma, the painter’s daughter of an immigrant family, is the first woman to be honored by the German association to which only men belonged. Last year Alma caused a sensation with the largest oil painting ever exhibited in Germany.
The president of the association, Wolfgang Rolshoven, emphasized Alma’s multi-colored understanding of art and highlighted it among the young generation of German artists. Meral Alma has received numerous awards. However, she made a name for herself above all with the largest oil painting in Germany from last year.
Alma herself said << I find it remarkable that the Jonges Association has chosen a woman with a multicultural background (…). It is a historic moment for me to be the first woman to receive this award. I am very happy and proud >>
