LEVELS OF PERCEPTION

As soon as the light is switched off, the canvas does not sink into blackness as expected, but lines and outlines emerge that Meral Alma has applied with a noctilucent pigment on the canvas. These are pigments that have been charged in daylight and now emit a greenish light in the dark. The painting suddenly appears monochrome, sketchy, it almost seems to develop a typographic quality.
